<p>Installation has an elongated rising tube for cracking a hydrocarbon feed to petrol in the presence of a fluidised catalyst, supply pipes for supplying the hydrocarbon feed to the rising tube, a separating chamber on the discharge end of the rising tube for separating gaseous product from the rising tube from the de-activated catalyst, a chamber for regenerating the catalyst, and pipes for supplying de-activated catalyst from the separating chamber to the regenerating chamber. The rising tube extends below the regenerating chamber, and a number of pipes extend from the regenerating chamber towards a number of places along the length of the rising tube for supplying regenerated catalyst from the regenerating chamber towards the number of places along the length of the rising tube. The multiple injection of the catalyst into the cracking tube gives better petrol yields and selectivity. Less erosion of the apparatus occurs, and the cracking reaction is uniformly distributed over the length of the tube.</p> |
