The system has multiple sensors (1, 3) i.e. motion sensors, provided at different points in buildings (9, 11), which is linked with a processing unit. Each sensor includes a transmitter (13) and a signal receiver (15). The sensors are provided in timber structures (5, 7) of the building for detecting presence of wood-depleting conditions in wood construction.
