DEVELOPING UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EMPLOYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A developing unit and an image forming apparatus using the same are provided to reduce leakage of developer and deterioration of an image in an end of a developing member. CONSTITUTION: A housing receives developer comprised of toner and carrier. A magnetic cylinder(41) comprises a collecting electrode and a main electrode. The collecting electrode receives developer in the housing. The main electrode faces an image carrier and fixes the carrier among the collected carriers. A sleeve(45) is installed on the outer circumference of the magnetic cylinder and forms a developer layer on the outer circumference. A layer restriction member(50) restricts thickness of the developer layer. A width restriction member(60) restricts width of the developer layer.
