A METHOD OF DISPLAYING OSD ITEMS AND A DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An OSD item display method and a display device applied with the same are provided to display a special event OSD item related to a specific event by using a contents display domain together with an OSD menu display domain when the specific event is generated. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(245) displays contents images on a contents display domain, and displays an OSD(On Screen Display) menu and an OSD item on an OSD menu display domain. If a specific event is generated, a controller(270) extends the OSD menu display domain, and displays a special event OSD item related to a selected item on the extended OSD menu display domain. The event OSD item is generated on the basis of information received through broadcast or the internet(150).
