<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device retaining a sealing function even if pressure is accumulated in a space between a first seal part and a second seal part. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing device is characterized in that a communication hole 20 communicating a first space S1 with a second space S2 is provided in a seal lip 16 of a high pressure side H of a second seal part 12 having seal lips 16, 17 disposed in a low pressure side L of a first seal part 11 of the sealing device 1 for a fuel pump and slidably contacting a surface 301 of a shaft 300, and if a pressure of the second space S2 rises with respect a pressure of the low pressure side L, the seal lip 17 of the low pressure side L temporarily separates away from the surface 301 of the shaft 300 to deform to canalize the second space S2 to the low pressure side L before the pressure of the second space S2 rises to a pressure causing breakage of the seal lips. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
