<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earphone suppressing deterioration in sound quality and having an audio output section included in an external auditory meatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An earphone 110 has a cylindrical section 116a having an opening at one edge, and an audio output section 130 for outputting sound from one face. The audio output section 130 is fixed to the cylindrical section 116a while the other face 130b is in contact with an end face 116a1 at one edge of the cylindrical section 116a. The audio output section 130 and at least one portion of the cylindrical section 116a can be stored in the external auditory meatus. The earphone has a thin-wall section 116h provided at the cylindrical section 116a, and a ring 176 made of a material having specific gravity larger than that of the cylindrical section 116a and fixed onto an inner surface of the cylindrical section 116a.
