The machine (1) has a cover film (8) and coolants (16-23) i.e. water, provided for cooling an outer side of a trough-shaped package. The coolants are provided for cooling molded package parts during and/or after filling of the trough-shaped package. The coolants are formed such that coolants begin to directly cool the molded package parts after molding. The coolants cool packaging material (7) to be packed and cool the trough-shaped package in an unsealed condition and a sealed condition. The coolants have a cooling element transmitting cold by radiation. An independent claim is also included for a method for sealing of a trough-shaped package.
