PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain reduction in durability of a primary shaft. SOLUTION: A lock nut 19 of a belt type continuously variable transmission regulates the movement in the axial direction of a shaft upper member arranged on the primary shaft 51, and also regulates the movement in the axial direction of a hydraulic fluid shutting-up device 10 arranged inside an axial hole 57 formed in the primary shaft 51. Thus, in the belt type continuously variable transmission, since a groove of a snap ring and a screw part are not newly formed, reduction in rigidity of the primary shaft 51 is restrained. In the belt type continuously variable transmission, an increase in a stress concentrating part is restrained.
