PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal protective member for an electric compressor capable of securing fitting of a projection of a terminal cover to the engagement hole of a lock piece of a terminal fence and preventing large looseness after fitting, even when some dimension error occurs. SOLUTION: In the terminal protective member for the electric compressor, a terminal 2 mounted to a lid body 1a of a closed container 1 is protected by the protective member 10 comprising the terminal fence 4 fixed to the lid body 1a and the terminal cover 5 fitted to the terminal fence 4. The projection 8 formed on the terminal cover 5 to be fitted to the engagement hole 7a of the lock piece 7 formed on the terminal fence 4 has a downward inclined face 8a formed in the upper end part and an upward inclined face 8b formed in the lower end part. Even if some dimension error is generated in a positional relationship between the engagement hole 7a of the lock piece 7 and the projection 8, since the error is absorbed by the downward inclined face 8a of the projection 8, fitting of the projection 8a can be secured and large looseness after fitting can be prevented.
