<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic preventing and repairing the damage of the hair such as split hair and broken hair, imparting excellent wet feeling, smoothness and good settling properties, and further imparting effects excellent in loosening-preventing effects and wetted feeling in a low-humidity condition in winter season. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic contains the following components (A) to (C): (A) a hydroxyether-type cation represented by the general formula (I) of R<SP>1</SP>-(OCH<SB>2</SB>CH(OH)CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>m</SB>-N<SP>+</SP>(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>3</SB>X<SP>-</SP>(wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a linear or branched 12-24C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-3C alkyl group; m is an integer of 1-5; and X is a halogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl sulfate group); (B) a higher alcohol having a 14-24C long-chain alkyl group; and (C) a hair-repairing agent.
