<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for detecting the presence of a removable member at a lower cost. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus includes a displacement member 75 for displacing in contact with a toner collecting container 49. When the toner collecting container 49 is not fitted (non-mounting state), the displacement member 75 interferes with a detected part of an opening/closing cover to be closed so that the closed state of the opening/closing cover is not detected by an opening/closing detecting device 10 (Fig.3(a)). When the toner collecting container 49 is fitted (mounting state), the displacement member 75 does not interfere with the detected part of the opening/closing cover to be closed so that the opening/closing state of the opening/closing cover can be detected by the opening/closing detecting device 10. Thus, the opening/closing detecting device 10 for detecting the opening/closing state of the opening/closing cover can be also used as a detecting means for detecting the presence of the toner collecting container 49, so that the presence of the toner collecting container 49 can be detected at a lower cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
