Information is elicited from a consumer electronics device purchaser at the point of sale and used to provide targeted advertising to the purchaser and/or to facilitate service provision to the purchaser related to the CE device by a third party service provider and/or to provide the information to an entity for a fee such that the entity can provide targeted advertising to the purchaser to provide improved correlation of the purchaser with nedded products or services.
