<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an air purifier compact. <P>SOLUTION: The air purifier includes a reactor 11 equipped with a catalyst as a photocatalyst or a low-temperature oxidation catalyst, an absorption tower 41, and a group of valves 45-48. The group of valves 45-48 connects the absorption tower 41 to a purifying subject space 60 while being shielded from a space vacuum, and the absorption tower 41 is shielded from the purifying subject space 60 while it connects to the space vacuum.
