PURPOSE:To provide a subject device which can miniaturize a whole device, by a method wherein an IC tip, into which a driving array and a shift register are provided, is set on a tape carrier. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of openings 10, 11, and 12 are formed at given intervals in a carrier tape 8 made of a flexible insulating film 9, and L-shaped conductor paths 13 and 14, forming terminal part 13a and 14b which can be joined to each electrode 4 of a thermal head 6, extend into the openings 10 and 12. An IC tip, into which a driving array for feeding a power to some electrode 5 of the thermal head 6, and a register for turning ON the array or preventing it from turning ON based on information of each stage are provided, is installed on the opening 11. For example, a conductor path 13' can be formed in a space at a side of the tip. |
