A COMPOSITION COMPRISING A DRIED POWDER OF MACKEREL FRACTION OR EXTRACT THEREOF FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING HYPERTENSION

PURPOSE: A composition containing dried powder or its extract of chub mackerel is provided to ensure blood pressure reduction, treat and prevent hypertension. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating hypertension contains dried powder or its extract of chub mackerel fraction as an active ingredient. The dried powder or its extract is contained in 0.1-50 weight% based on total weight of the pharmaceutical composition. A method for producing the dried powder of chub mackerel fraction comprises: a step of washing the chub mackerel to remove foreign materials and salt; a step of cutting into whole body of the fish, skin, head, fin, bone, cartilage, muscle, eye and gill; and a step of performing freeze-drying or sun drying. The extract of chub mackerel fraction is obtained through pulverizing, pressing or extracting with a mixer or extracting with water, alcohol or spirit solvent. A functional health food for preventing and treating hypertension contains dried powder or extract of chub mackerel fraction as an active ingredient. The health food is used in the form of tablet, capsule, pill or liquid.
