Method of sequestering SOx and CO2 from flue gases

The method involves removing dust from an exhaust gas (R), and desulphurizing the exhaust gas with calcium compound. The exhaust gas is decarbonized in a two-stage high temperature process by calcium oxide under formation of the calcium carbonate in a carbonator (6). The calcium carbonate is regenerated in a calcinator (9) by supplying heat and by releasing of carbon dioxide to a calcium oxide that is led back to the carbonator. The calcium compound from the carbonator and/or the calcinator is used as absorbents (A1, A2) e.g. calcium carbonate, during desulphurizing of the exhaust gas.
