A clip adapted to secure a member 24 with a keyhole slot 34 in it to a support 20 from which a headed stud 22 projects comprises a marginal portion adapted to bear against the exposed surface of the member, an opening bounded by the marginal portion at a forward end portion of the clip permitting the clip to be placed over the head 30 of the stud projecting through a narrower part of the slot in the member, a resilient ramp portion 44 having an elongated slot 38 extending rearwardly from said opening, a rearwardly directed detent 50 depending below the marginal portion rearwardly of the ramp portion, the clip being thus such that on being placed over the headed stud and pushed forwardly so that the ramp portion resiliently bears against the underside of the stud head, the detent is received within an enlarged spring of the keyhole slot in the member to resist withdrawal of the clip. As shown the marginal portion 40 is turned upwardly to present a smoothed curved face to bear against the member and also to provide a channel shaped reinforcement for the clip. A cover portion 40 extends over a part of the opening and the marginal portion although in a modification the cover portion extends over the opening of the ramp portion and the detent. The detent in the clip shown extends from the free end of the ramp portion but when the cover portion extends over the ramp portion and the detent, the ramp portion and detent are separated although both formed with metal reversely folded under the cover portion from the rear end thereof. |
