METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING SEWAGE AND WASTEWATER BY REMOVING NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS THROUGH IMPROVEMENT OF CONVENTIONAL ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS AND INJECTION OF EXTERNAL CARBON SOURCE

PURPOSE: To provide a sewage and wastewater treatment method and a sewage and wastewater treatment apparatus for improving removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus by improving conventional activated sludge process of existing sewage and wastewater treatment plant and adding an external carbon source to sewage and wastewater. CONSTITUTION: The sewage and wastewater treatment apparatus comprises a grit chamber, initial sedimentation basin, aeration tank and final sedimentation basin so that sewage and wastewater are treated through various steps, wherein the final sedimentation basin is formed in a treatment tank shape in the anoxic state, a return sludge line of the anoxic state is formed between the final sedimentation basin and the aeration tank, a carbon source supply part for supplying an external carbon source is installed at parts of the final sedimentation basin and the return sludge line in the anoxic state, and a sludge transfer line is installed between the aeration tank and the final sedimentation basin in such a way that an excess sludge discharge part is installed in the middle of the sludge transfer line.
