<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collection method for executing the history investigation of chemical substance included in a final molded piece to be successively worked through a plurality of manufacturers on a supply chain by an investigator being a third person and to provide a device using for this method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The information collection method includes: an end manufacturer specification step of specifying a pair of a first manufacturer who manufactures chemical substance and a final manufacturer who manufactures a final molded piece being the object of history investigation; an intermediate manufacturer specification step for specifying by a pair of a deliverers who deliver a molded piece and a pair of workers who receive and works the molded piece; and a step for acquiring information by tracing a pair of manufacturers about chemical substance included in the successively worked molded pieces. A device to be used therein includes an investigation medium (29) to be handed over to the worker who receives and works the molded piece from the deliverer of the molded piece; and a transmission means (49) for transmitting manufacturer information in the worker each time the investigation medium (29) is handed over to the worker.
