1327935 1,5 - Diphenyl - 3 - methyl - 1,3,5- triazapenta-1,4-dienes BOOTS CO Ltd 3 Dec 1970 [12 Dec 1969 26 Aug. 1970 (2)] 60793/69 41120/70 and 41121/70 Addition to 1288811 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of formula X-N=CH-NMe-CH=N-Y (I), wherein X and Y are 2,3-, 2,4- or 2,6-Me 2 C 6 H 3 ; 2,4,6-, 2,4,5- or 2,3,4-Me 3 C 6 H 2 ; 2,4- or 4,2- Me(Z)C 6 H 3 , where Z is halogen; 4,6,2-Me 2 (Z) C 6 H 2 , 6,2,4-MeZ 2 C 6 H 2 , 2,4-Me(MeO)C 6 H 3 , Ph or MeC 6 H 4 ; provided that (a) when X=Y, they are not Ph, MeC 6 H 4 or 2,4-Me(Z)C 6 H 3 ; (b) when X#Y, at least 1 of them is 2,3- or 2,4-Me 2 C 6 H 3 , 2,4,6- or 2,3,4-Me 3 C 6 H 2 , or 2,4- or 4,2-Me(Z)C 6 H 3 . These compounds are prepared by reacting X-N=CH-NHMe with (1) Y-N=CHNHMe, (2) Y-NC, or (3) Y-N=CH-OR, where R is C 1-4 alkyl. Pesticidal compositions which are active against cattle ticks, phytophagous spider mites, scale insects and aphids, comprise compounds of the above Formula (I) in association with a diluent or carrier, and optionally additional pesticides (see Division A5). |
