PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a porous metal complex by which a porous metal complex having high purity and a large surface area can be obtained efficiently and inexpensively. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the porous metal complex having a three dimensional porous skeleton structure of a metal complex comprised of a central atom and, coordinated thereto, an organic ligand bearing a carboxylate group comprises preparing a salt of the central atom as a metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid and causing the metal salt of the aromatic carboxylic acid to react with the organic ligand.
