<p>PURPOSE: A dual mode terminal using a mobile communications network and WLAN is provided to reduce power consumption and increase the convenience of a user by using mobile communication network and WLAN. CONSTITUTION: A base station location extracting unit(110) analyzes a base station code of a mobile communications terminal and extracts the base station location. In case the base station location does not change over the predetermined time, a WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) searcher(120) performs a WLAN search. A mode switch(130) changes a communication mode into a WLAN mode corresponding to the searched WLAN. The predetermined time is less than 5 minutes.</p> |
