PURPOSE: An LED lamp and method of controlling an LED lamp is provided to drive an LED efficiently by sensing a driving voltage corresponding to a forward direction of the LED. CONSTITUTION: An LED segment(100) comprises one or more than two LEDs. A data storage module(160) stores the information of the LED segment and information of LEDs. A variable volume control IC(110) generates a driving voltage for the LED segment by using an external power supply. A driver(120) generates the output current supplied to the LED segment. A voltage measurement unit(140) measures the voltage applied to the LED segment. The current measurement unit(130) measures the output current of a driver. A controller(150) generates a PWM control signal of the driving voltage for the LED segment by using the measured voltage, current, and information of data storage module. The controller generates the PWM control signal of the output current of the LED segment.
