PURPOSE: A valve device for a hermetic compressor is provided to improve the performance of a compressor by properly controlling the rigidity of a valve spring and reducing spring resistance so as to rapidly open and close a discharge valve. CONSTITUTION: A valve device for a hermetic compressor comprises a discharge valve(253), a first valve spring(254), a valve stopper(256), and a second valve spring(255). The discharge valve opens and closes a discharge port(251b) discharging compressed coolant. The first valve spring is arranged on a compressive rear side of the discharge valve. The first valve spring flexibly supports the discharge valve. The valve stopper supports one end of the first valve spring and the discharge valve together and limits the opening degree of the discharge valve. One end of the second valve spring is fixed on the valve stopper. The second valve spring flexibly supports one side of the first valve spring.
