<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology mitigating the effect of pressure waves of exhaust gas to other cylinders, inhibiting increase of size of an exhaust pipe, and increasing the degree of freedom of layout in an exhaust device for a V-type four cylinder engine provided with a manifold collecting exhaust pipes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust device 33 for the V-type four cylinder engine, front side exhaust pipes 61L, 61R are connected to front cylinders and rear side exhaust pipes 71L, 71R are connected to rear cylinders, the front side exhaust pipes 61L, 61R are collected to a front manifold 62, the rear side exhaust pipes 71L, 71R are collected to a rear manifold 74, the front manifold 62 and the rear manifold 74 are collected to an overall manifold 76, and an expansion pipe 75 having a larger pipe diameter than a pipe diameter of the rear manifold 74 and attenuating pressure wave of exhaust gas is provided between the rear manifold 74 and the overall manifold 76.
