<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for adjusting an acoustic resistance of an acoustic resistance material that eliminates an air leakage to accurately adjust the acoustic resistance of the acoustic resistance material to be adjusted. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The acoustic resistance material 65 to be adjusted is disposed closing a sound hole 63a of a circular insulating seat 63, and compressed air A2 is sent through second piping 22 to the side of the acoustic resistance material 65 to be adjusted of a workpiece W for adjustment which has its acoustic resistance adjusted with an adjusting nut 66 while the workpiece W is held airtightly by a jig body, so that the acoustic resistance can be adjusted more accurately in accordance with the relation with a reference acoustic resistance material 6 by moving the position of the adjusting nut 66 forward and backward while visually confirming the difference in acoustic resistance of the reference workpiece S to which compressed air A1 is sent through first piping 12, from the reference acoustic resistance material 6 on a differential pressure gauge P that a bridge pipe 32 has.
