The agricultural machine has a drawbar (11) for attachment to a tractor (12), a multi-axle carriage (4), which has a liftable axle (5), and a lifting or lowering device (8) for lifting or lowering the liftable axle. A load sensing equipment is provided for detection of the load or the loading of the agricultural machine. A control device is provided for automatic control of the lifting or lowering device depending on the detected load or loading. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling an agricultural machine.
