<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying device capable of preventing characters from becoming hard to be read owing to its contrast reduction when reducing and displaying, as a thumbnail image, a document image added with a woven pattern. <P>SOLUTION: The copying device includes an image reduction unit, a woven pattern removal unit and a thumbnail image generation unit. In the image reduction unit, a woven pattern added document image is divided into a plurality of first blocks, an average density is calculated for each of the first blocks and a reduction image is generated by reducing an image size. In the woven pattern removal unit, the reduction image is divided into a plurality of second blocks, an average density is calculated for each of the second blocks, a second block is extracted of which the average density is lower than or equal to a predetermined threshold, and a woven pattern non-addition image is generated by removing a woven pattern image from the reduction image by converting pixel values of pixels in the second block into a fixed value. In the thumbnail image generation unit, the woven pattern non-addition image is divided into a plurality of third blocks, an average density is calculated for each of the third blocks and a thumbnail image is generated by reducing an image size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
