<p>In a new piston cylinder unit comprising an externally surface-protected cylindrical pressure tube and a piston (with a piston rod) axially slidable in the tube, where the piston rod passes out of the tube in sealed manner through an opening in the front side of the tube, the end region (6) of the pressure tube (1), starting from the piston rod exit front side (3'), is excluded from the surface protection. An independent claim is included for a method for production of the piston cylinder unit, in which a pressure tube with an open frontal end is prepared and subjected to a surface protecting coating procedure (specifically powder coating) while excluding the end region (6) of the tube (1) starting from the open end.</p> |
