The method involves accomplishing a reflection measurement at a point of a rotor blade, where the reflection measurement comprises a contactless measurement of distance of the point of the rotor blade to a given point of a wind power plant. Measures such as disconnection of the wind power plant, are determined based on comparison of measured values of the reflection measurement with critical deflection values (K1-K5). The critical deflection values are defined depending on a respective wind load and/or power generated by the wind power plant. An independent claim is also included for a device for monitoring a rotor blade of a wind power plant. |
