<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To access encrypted content stored in a storage unit using a host controller for accessing a memory card. <P>SOLUTION: The copyright protection chip includes a selector, a second register, and a communication circuit. The selector connects the host controller with circuits in the copyright-protected chip. The second register stores an encrypted content key stored in the storage unit, decoding key formation information, and shared secret information. When an access means accesses the content decoded from the encrypted content stored in a hard disk, the communication circuit communicates with the host controller and transmits the encrypted content key and the decoding key formation information stored in the register to the host controller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
