PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in an image removing device for removing an image forming material on a recorded material by transferring it to a release member in which the quantity of release agent contained in the surface of the release member is fluctuated out of an appropriate quantity when image removal is repeatedly performed, and an insufficient or excessive release agent quantity in the release member may disable separation of the recorded material from the release member or ensuring of satisfactory removing performance due to impairing of an adhesion or separation state between the release member and the recorded material in image removal. SOLUTION: The device comprises at least one of a release agent supply means for supplying the release agent to the release member and a release agent removing means for removing the release agent on the surface of the release member for controlling the release agent quantity to the release member contacting with the recorded material, whereby the release agent on the surface of the release member is prevented from being out of the appropriate quantity.
