<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely select a communication operation with a simple technique without accompanying a fine operation of an operation button, etc. in an image reproduction apparatus which performs data communication by approaching an external device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A system control part 50 performs posture detection processing using a posture detection part 120, is set to a slide show mode when a detection result of the posture detection part 120 is a vertical posture, is set to an image transfer mode when the detection result is a horizontal posture, and performs guidance display on an image display part 28. After that, when the external device 500 being a connection object is detected, the system control part 50 executes the image transfer mode or the slide show mode set by the detection result of the posture detection part 120.
