<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black color curable composition capable of being easily hardened with high sensitivity by even small amount of exposure and forming a light shielding color filter for a solid imaging element for preventing the occurrence of residue in a developing part and improving a pattern shape and to provide the light shielding color filter for the solid imaging element capable of achieving excellent light shielding performance in a wide wavelength region, its manufacturing method, and the solid imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: This black color curable composition contains (A) titanium black, (B) alkali soluble resin having weight-average molecular weight of 2,000 or more and less than 20,000, (C) solvent, (D) photopolymerization initiator, and (E) the compound having ethylene unsaturated double bond. Preferably, (B) component has weight-average molecular weight/average numerical molecular weight (distribution of molecular weight) of less than 3.0 and acid value is 50 mgKOH/g to 200 mgKOH/g.
