The invention relates to a method for producing a composite body (15, 24) with an inscription panel (2), such a composite body and a device for producing such a composite body.  The method comprises the following steps: bringing the inscription panel (2) into surface-area contact with a plastic surface of a main body (9), bringing a sonotrode (12) into contact with the inscription panel (2) and using the sonotrode to introduce ultrasound into the inscription panel (2) such that the main body (9) and the inscription panel (2) are heated at their contact surface and the inscription panel is pressed against the surface of the main body (9), so that, when it cools down, a bond that cannot be broken nondestructively is formed between the main body (9) and the inscription panel (2) and produces the composite body (15; 24).
