The audio video data recording device for recording audio and video data includes: a camera unit for inputting an image; a high-quality image encoding unit which compresses the image captured by the camera unit with a high quality; a high-quality data storage unit which records dynamic image data outputted from the high-quality image encoding unit; a low-quality image encoding control unit which starts or stops low-quality image recording during a high-quality image recording; a low-quality image encoding unit which compresses the image captured by the camera unit in accordance with an instruction of the low-quality image encoding control unit; a low-quality image data storage unit which records the dynamic image data outputted from the low-quality image encoding unit; and a communication unit which transfers to another device, the dynamic image data recorded in the low-quality image data storage unit.
