<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that achieves not only sufficient heat dissipation performance but also compactness thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device that achieves not only excellent heat dissipation efficiency but also compactness includes: a light source portion having a rectangular parallelepiped shape glass sealing portion for collectively sealing each light emitting element on a ceramic substrate; a heat dissipation member 3 which includes a connection region 34 connected to a heat dissipation pattern of the light source portion on an upper surface 31a and in which a hole 35 extended from a side surface 31b to a lower portion of the connection region 34 is formed; a reflective member 4 having a reflective portion 41 which is disposed on the upper surface 31a of the heat dissipation member 3 and which allows the light emitted from a side of the glass sealing portion of the light source portion to be reflected to an upper portion thereof, and having a side face 42 which is extended to the lower portion along a side surface of the heat dissipation member 3 and which has a portion to be coupled therewith; a mounting substrate 5 disposed between the heat dissipation member 3 and reflective member 4 away from the connection region 34: and a heat pipe 6 inserted in the hole 35 of the heat dissipation member 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
