<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately prevent a document image from being tampered or forged. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an image processing apparatus, a first signal generation section 52 generates a first signal, and a second signal generation section 54 generates a second signal. A first modulation section 53 modulates the first signal into a first color difference superimpose signal, and a second modulation section 55 modulates the second signal into a second color difference superimpose signal. A signal superimposing section 56 superimposes the modulated first color difference superimpose signal and the modulated second color difference superimpose signal on an original image signal to produce a synthetic signal, and a printer drive section 12 records an image based on the produced synthetic signal on a paper sheet.
