<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily achieve three-dimensional display with higher definition than before. <P>SOLUTION: A lenticular lens 2 is disposed so that the lengthwise direction of each cylindrical lens 2A is parallel to the axis of a two-dimensional display section 1 in longitudinal direction Y. A plurality of light beams corresponding to a plurality of view angles are emitted into space in a surface segmentation manner at the same clock time. A positional relationship between each cylindrical lens 2A and each pixel of the two-dimensional display section 1 is periodically changed, thereby periodically displacing the direction in which display image light is emitted from an optional pixel by each cylindrical lens 2A. An image corresponding to one frame of a three-dimensional image is displayed for each pixel of the two-dimensional display section 1 in a time sharing manner. Also, the timing of time sharing display on the two-dimensional display section 1 and the timing of changing the positional relationship by a displacing means are synchronously controlled. This achieves three-dimensional display in which a surface segmentation system and time-sharing system are combined.
