PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring type assisting device not interfering with a rider and not causing opposite assisting work in starting operation. SOLUTION: This assisting device 10 stores a revolving member 14 furnished with a first gear 13 to the inside of housing 11 of which clutch cables 18a, 18b are connected, a lever 16 stored in the housing 11 free to revolve and furnished with a second gear 15 to be engaged with the first gear 13 and a spring 17 one end of which is engaged with a distal end of the lever 16 and the other end of which is engaged with the housing 11 in it and exerts assisting work such that the gears 13, 15 are not engaged with each other so as not to transmit energizing force by the lever to a clutch cable when the clutch cable is not operated to be drawn and the gears 13, 15 are engaged with each other when the clutch cable is further operated to be drawn.
