PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor device for an electronic endoscope, capable of reducing the stress of a user caused by the waiting time in the frozen state. SOLUTION: The processor device has a digital signal processing circuit (DSP) for generating images one after another based on imaging signals input from the electronic endoscope. A monitor image output circuit displays the images generated by the DSP as moving images on a monitor one by one, and displays a frozen image as the moving image in the static state on the monitor according to a freezing signal FR input from the electronic endoscope. After that, when a capturing signal CP is input from the electronic endoscope, an outside device image output circuit outputs the frozen image to a printer connected as the outside device. A CPU returns the frozen image displayed on the monitor by the monitor image output circuit to the moving image in the elapse of a prescribed time t after the start of output of the frozen image by the outside device image output circuit.
