<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a recording material from winding around a fixing roller, then, capable of forming an image on the whole surface of the recording material, without making the apparatus large in size and complicated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is configured such that a toner image formed on the recording material is passed through a nip between the fixing roller 71 and a pressure roller 72, and the toner image is fixed by heating and pressurizing. The toner is magnetic toner, and the toner image composed of the magnetic toner is formed up to the leading end of the recording material in the conveying direction. A separation roller 73 having a magnetic field generating means is disposed on the downstream side in the rotating direction of the fixing roller 71. In the case of forming a full-color image in at least four colors, yellow (Y), cyan (C), magenta (M) and black (K), magnetic toner is preferably used as at least one color toner.
