<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate for fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display devices, which suppresses the occurrence of disclination and has an improved aperture ratio and transmittance, and to provide a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device including the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the array substrate for fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display devices, each of many openings has a major axis parallel with a data line and a minor axis parallel with a gate line, and a center portion of each opening overlaps a pixel electrode, and at least one end of short-side faces along the major axis of each opening protrudes beyond the pixel electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
