<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wind power generator or a fire detection method for the wind turbine generator capable of reducing a risk of the expansion of an economic loss caused by the erroneous detection of a fire. <P>SOLUTION: A storage body 20 stores a generator 21 converting the rotational energy of a wind turbine to electric energy, a main shaft 22 rotated by the rotation of the wind turbine 10, a speed-increasing gear 23 adjusting the rotation speed of the main shaft 22, a second shaft 24 connected to the speed-increasing gear 23 and transmitting rotation to the generator 21, a brake 25 stopping the rotation of the main shaft 22, the second shaft 24 and the inside of the generator 21, a fan 26 generating circulation flow of gas in the storage body 20, a flame sensor 27 detecting flame generated in the storage body 20, an imaging device 28 picking up an image of the inside of the storage body 20, and a control device 29 controlling the speed-increasing gear 23, the brake 25 and the like.
