PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by preventing erroneous user operation. SOLUTION: A communication apparatus (100) includes: a display means (108) for displaying video data; a communication means (104) for communicating with an external device (200); and a control means (101) for performing control in response to a command from the external device. When the display means is in a muted state and data for bringing the external device into the muted state are transmitted to the external device via the communication means, the communication means is prevented from executing the command received from the external device.
