The disclosed embodiments of a heat engine which uses the caloric content of a hot medium by better utilizing the isochoric changes of state in a cycle encompassing six changes of state (two isobaric, two isochoric, and two isothermal ones) allow the design complexity to be reduced. In order to do so, the heat engine comprises at least one couple of heat exchangers with a condenser as well as an evaporator. At least one working medium transfer element is arranged between the condenser and the evaporator of the couple of heat exchangers. At least one working motor is provided which is driven by a working medium. A connecting pipe is provided between the condenser and the working motor, and another connecting pipe is provided between the evaporator and the working motor. Valve means are arranged between the couple of heat exchangers and the working motor and selectively open or close a flow medium connection therebetween. |
