The panel (1) has a core (27) sandwiched between internal and external face plates (2, 3). A rigid material forming the plates presents a dilation behavior different from that of an insulating material forming the core. Grooves (27a) are formed on a core surface that is in contact with the plate (3). The grooves create separate core blocks (27b) that are subjected to independent lateral displacements under the effect of dilation. The integration of the core with the adjacent plate is performed on a part of the blocks, without creating obstacle to the displacements. An independent claim is also included for a building panel such as frontage covering panel or carpentry casement, obtained from a sandwich type panel.
