<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the straightness of a movable platen of a direct-pressure type mold clamping device by the support of a mold clamping ram by a tie bar and the support of the movable platen by a linear guide mechanism, and prevent a pitching phenomenon of the linear guide mechanism with the support fixing of the movable platen by a plate-like block. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A ram receiving plate is integrally provided on the back surface of the movable platen through a mold clamping force transmission member of a central part. The tip of the mold clamping ram is supported by inserting the ram receiving plate into the tie bar. The movable platen is provided on the traveling base between support members by hooking projections at both sides of a platen body on the upper end of the support member vertically provided at the operation side and a non-operation side of the traveling base. The support member is composed of a laterally wide plate-like block. The block front part is cut by making a lower part remain to be formed to an installation block projected from the front end edge.
