<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication system capable of making transmission while making uplink and downlink packet communication coexistent as further as possible within a range that does not exceed a limit of transmission power of a terminal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a power adjustment method for adjusting power of wireless transmission to be performed from a terminal to a base station while using a plurality of channels including an enhanced individual data channel to be utilized for transmitting uplink data to be retransmitted in a case where NACK is redirected as a response signal, includes: decreasing a value of a gain factor for adjusting power regarding the enhanced individual data channel among the plurality of channels in a case where it is determined that total power obtained by summing transmission power on the plurality of channels exceeds a transmission enabled maximum power of the terminal; maintaining the value of the gain factor for adjusting power regarding any channel other than the enhanced individual data channel; and retransmitting data from the terminal to the base station in a case where NACK regarding data from the terminal is received.
