<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent polymeric actuator using a stress-induced emitter excelling in illumination quality of an illuminating part while being thin. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A stress-induced emitter part 20 is integrally and unseparably provided inside a polymeric actuator 10 to constitute the luminescent polymeric actuator 1A. The polymeric actuator 10 is composed of a polymeric electrolyte layer 11 and electrode layers 12, 13 formed on both front and rear faces of the polymeric electrolyte layer 11. The stress-induced emitter part 20 is formed by diffusion-filling a surface layer part of the electrode layer 12 with stress-induced emitter particles 22 or diffusion-connecting the stress-induced emitter particles 22 to the surface portion of the electrode layer 12.
